Starfish beach in Phú Quốc

Phú Quốc is, above all, a coastline. More than a hundred and fifty kilometres of shore, vast beaches and coves you can almost keep to yourself. From Cybade, most are just a few minutes away. Here are our favourites, and the right time for each.

Bãi Trường, in front of the hotel

The simplest, and our morning ritual. A three-minute walk away, Bãi Trường unrolls a long ribbon of sand facing the sunset. We come at daybreak for the soft light, or in the late afternoon for the sunset, one of the most beautiful on the island.

Bãi Sao, the white sand

In the south of the island, Bãi Sao is the postcard: sand of an unreal whiteness, turquoise water, leaning coconut palms. Count on about thirty minutes by scooter. We can lend you one. The secret: get there early, before the crowds, to enjoy the quiet.

“The best time for Bãi Sao is just after dawn: the water is glassy, and the beach still yours.”

The southern coves

Between the big beaches hide little rocky coves, perfect for snorkelling. Less well known, you'll mostly cross paths with fishermen and a few curious travellers. Ask us for the map: we'll point out our favourite entry spots.

Practical tips

Sunscreen, water, and a little cash for the small fruit stands. The dry season (November to April) offers the calmest sea. And for sunsets, the west of the island never disappoints.

THE HOUSE TIP

At reception, ask for our hand-annotated beach map: tide times, shady spots and the best places to have lunch with your feet in the sand.
